I used to call the Sistine Ceiling as "the belly of my Trojan Horse". Well, now everyone will understand why. I left many hints about that, but Cassandra is the most obvious one. You can see behind her, Teledamus and Pelops, the twins she had with Agamemnon. The uncanny way she is looking to Julius II is enough to announce the tragedy that's coming for his "city of Troy" (today's Vatican City).
The message from Cassandra is shown on the painting of Judith and Holofernes. Judith was the jewish woman who decapitated Holofernes, the assyrian general, and saved Israel. Holofernes desire was what led him to his fate.
But the scene is to be understood in an inverted way: the head is going to be reconnected to the body. The two slaves on the top of the scene are showing that inversion of the action. The head on the tray is my self-portrait. This painting is describing the entering of my ideas into the Sistine Chapel. I'm expressing the awakening of a body, not its death.
Judith is seen by many as a prefiguration of the Virgin Mary but on this painting I'm also stating the begining of the real resurrection: the awakening through the reincarnation process.

A cabeça na bandeja é o meu auto-retrato. Esta pintura está descrevendo a entrada de minhas idéias para dentro da Capela Sistina. Estou expressando o despertar de um corpo, não sua morte.
Judite é vista por muitos como uma prefiguração da Virgem Maria, mas nesta pintura eu também estou indicando o início da ressurreição real: o despertar através do processo de reencarnação.
